Synthesizing

In reading the comments from last week’s blog it really seemed to affirm that using a survey might be a great tool to use to figure out what my student’s media usage is really like. Moving forward I think I will try and create a google form to use with my classes to see what their usage is like. Once I have that I think it will help to give me better insight on what my next steps might be in helping my students become better consumers of information.

  1. I think the google form is a good idea. I think it will be hard for one person to help/change the ways students consume information. I think to help students be better information consumers it will be a team effort between student, parents, teachers, and administrators so there's consistency.

  2. I love the Google form idea. What kind of questions would you ask? Would you have a choice of answers that you could then create a pie graph from? I think the students would like to see that information too and it would be a great class discussion starter.

  3. I think the google form is a great idea as well! I know iphones (that are at least updated) have a weekly report every sunday on daily screen time use. Maybe students could enter that into the google form at some point?
